The Student Becomes the Teacher

"Kids Empowering Kids" is a transformative program by Orquesta Guadalupana where seasoned members mentor beginner students in music lessons. Each 'student teacher' earns $5.00 USD per lesson, significantly more than the average daily wage of $2.00 per hour in Tijuana. This opportunity not only empowers orchestra members but also contributes to their family income.

By participating in this program, these young musicians continue honing their talents while nurturing the next generation of musicians. Moreover, they engage in meaningful community service, fostering a sense of responsibility and empathy.

A typical day of "Kids Empowering Kids" involves about 30 students receiving lessons from more seasoned orquesta members. Despite its profound impact, "Kids Empowering Kids" faces imminent closure due to financial constraints. The program is in dire need of financial support to continue.
