Works of Mercy

Besides sharing its beautiful musical gifts and talents, Orquesta Guadalupana also spreads joy and merciful love by bringing the love of Christ to others. They do this by fulfilling the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. The orquesta frequently visits the sick and elderly in convalescent homes, and in the past they have put hand made crosses in unamed graves of the poor in Tijuana, thus fulfilling the call to "visit the sick" and "bury the dead".

(Top) Unmarked common graves in Tijuana. Graves hold poor residents of Tijuana who died on the streets or could not afford a funeral. Each grave holds 8 bodies placed in bags with a garden stake. By placing the cross, orquesta members spread merciful love and help "bury the dead", providing each grave with a more proper marking.
